The HAROLD LLOYD catalogue is a combination of both feature length and short films, a majority starring Lloyd’s most well-known bespectacled “Glass Character”, including the classic fan favorite Safety Last! (1923) -- where an unassuming shop clerk arranges a publicity stunt to scale a building, but is forced to make the hair-raising climb himself. This film not only secured Lloyd’s stardom in Hollywood, but also boasts the iconic scene in which Harold is perilously dangling from the arm of a giant clock. With 16 feature films in total, some of the other popular titles in this catalogue include Why Worry? (1923), Girl Shy (1924), The Freshman (1925), and The Kid Brother (1927).
Add to this 28 short films such as Haunted Spooks (1920) where Harold, unsuccessful at suicide, braves a haunted house and marital engagement, and High and Dizzy (1920), the second of Lloyd’s five famous “thrill comedies”where Harold becomes intoxicated on some homemade liquor and follows a sleepwalking woman onto a skyscraper ledge. And last but not least, the critically-acclaimed compilation film World of Comedy (1962), showcases a collection of scenes from Harold Lloyd’s best known films, personally selected by the legend himself.
